The Township of Highland is located on the western border of Oakland County astride M-59, the major east-west highway. The Township is a mix of open farmland, a wide range of residential living options, state recreation land and more than twenty-five lakes.

What's Happening:
2014 Annual “Coats for the Cold” Coat Drive
Please bring your new or gently used coats for Oakland County Sheriff's office, Michael J. Bouchard, annual Coat Drive. You can drop them off in Highland at the Sheriff's substation at 165 N. John Street. Coats can be dropped off M-F, 8:000am--4:00pm, November 1st---November 30th.     more
Highland Township Veternas Ceremony
The VFW will host Highland's Veterans Ceremony on Tuesday, November 11th. The Ceremony will be at 9:00am in Veterans Park, downtown Highland. Please pass this information along to anyone that would like to attend.     more

Phishing and Schemes Using the IRS name
The IRS periodically alerts taxpayers to schemes that fraudulently use the IRS name, logo or Web site clone to gain access to consumers’ financial information in order to steal their identity and assets. The scams may take place through e-mail, fax or phone. When they take place via e-mail, they are called “phishing” scams. The IRS website has information that can help you protect yourself from tax scams of all kinds.     more
Solicitors for Home Repairs
We have had numerous complaints of Contractors soliciting homeowners to make home repairs after the storm on Sunday. Anyone soliciting anything in Highland Township needs to have a permit from the Township Clerk. If you have anyone approaching you, ask to see their permit, if they do not have a permit ask them to leave your property and then contact the Sheriff's Department at their non-emergency number 248-887-6240.     more

Remember Your Vote Counts in 2014
There is a Primary Election August 5th and a General on November 4th. You can register to vote in the Clerk’s office during regular business hours. If you’re going to be out of town on Election Day or you are age 60 or older, absentee ballot applications are available.     more
2013 Financial Audit
At the June 11, 2014 meeting of the Board of Trustees, a report of the independent audit of Township finances for 2013 was presented by Plante & Moran, LLC. Their report provides a thorough overview of the Township's financial performance and provides a means for the reader to discern how taxpayer's resources have been spent and invested in providing government services throughout the year.     more
